SEMANTICS OF FUNCTION WORDS AS METATEXTUAL OPERATORS IN FINAL EXAMS ESSAYS

Abstract. The article considers the interdependence of language items in the process of word sign nomination that is determined by speaker’s communicative intention. The author highlights a particular means of interdependence realization, i.e. metatextual discourse elements. The research focuses on the verbal behavior of communicants using functional words in written texts as the subsigns of statement deep structures.
