SEARCH FOR MOTIVATION OF SET EXPRESSIONS AND CULTUROLOGICAL COMPETENCE OF SPECIALISTS IN INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION

Abstract. It is stated that studying set expressions with hypothetic etymology contributes to the culturological competence of specialists in intercultural communication. The search for motivation of such set expressions stimulates cognitive activity of student studying a foreign language. The role of ludic intentions in their origin and subjective etymological versions is underlined. The author briefly presents her popular science book series devoted to these issues.
