CHARACTERISTICS OF ELLIPTICAL UTTERANCES IN THE ASPECT OF ILLOCUTION AND PERLOCUTION (BY THE MATERIAL OF MODERN GERMAN PROSE)

Abstract. The article analyzes the function of elliptical utterances in the dialogic unity in the aspect of illocution and perlocution. The participants of communicative act opt for elliptical or nonelliptical forms of utterance in the course of communication. The analysis of dialogical unity allows revealing the validity of the choice of elliptical construction in a particular context. While analyzing the data of elliptical constructions, we revealed their emotional function. The purpose of this work is to reveal the contextual conditions in which the interlocutors opt for elliptical utterances.
