Abstract. The article is devoted to the formation and investigation of an individual cognitive space equal to the semantic type of a thematic group of proverbs and sayings that represent a person. The author shows how with the help of the structural-semantic analysis based on the real nature of the analyzed proverbs and sayings, i.e. their diversity, step-by-step "unfolding" of a key lexical item till a figurative (conceptual) constituent and then a semantic type happens.
