Abstract. By the material of modern mass media texts the author considers the types of syntactic errors made while composing the grammatical stem of a sentence, analyzes the deviations in the use of subject, predicate, the violations of the correlation between the main parts of a sentence, the contradictions between the form of a grammatical stem and its content, as well as the non-normative expansion of the grammatical core of a sentence, and mentions that these deviations from syntactic standard destroy formal and semantic structures of a Russian sentence reducing the overall level of speech culture.
