Abstract. The author considers the experience of fiction works comparative analysis in genre specifics, by means of the comparison of both writers’ works genre originality undertakes an attempt to come to such understanding of genre aims that is difficult while separate studying of the works, tells that in the center there is a comparative analysis of the works in the aspects of several genre forming features: binarity in the organization of space - time and plot, one-event and one-problem content, brevity, a limited number of characters; and shows the similarity and fundamental difference in both writers’ works.
