Abstract. The author considers the first Russian translation of Ch. Bronte's novel Jane Eyre, sets the goal to determine the features of realistic method transmission in I. I. Vvedenskii's translation reception, pays attention to the influence of sentimental naturalism poetics, typical of the 1840s, and shows how the Victorian realism of the novel was transformed under the influence of the early Russian realism forms in I. I. Vvedenskii's interpretation.
