TYPES AND FUNCTIONS OF REPETITION: BY THE EXAMPLE OF RUSSIAN-LANGUAGE AND ENGLISH-LANGUAGE LECTURES

Abstract. Lecture is an integral part of the educational environment of a higher education establishment. Modern lecture, being a kind of scientific style, forms students' views and opinions, organizes and stimulates their creative thinking, contributes to the awareness of their place and destination in science. The author reveals such linguo-stylistic devices as repetition, anadiplosis and transition, as well as their types and functions in a lector's speech.
