DOUBLE MOTIVATIONS IN A. S. PUSHKIN'S NARRATIVE QUEEN OF SPADES

Abstract. The author considers the double motivations of certain events introduction into a plot basing on the material of A. S. Pushkin's narrative Queen of Spades, reveals and analyzes the main images, details, meaningful situations, which convey ambivalent meaning, concludes that the atmosphere of fantastic is created in the narrative by the fluctuation between the real and surreal explanations of events, and mentions the consistent embodiment of double-world principle in the narrative.
