VALUES AS BASIS OF CONTENT FOR TEACHING FOREIGN LANGUAGE READING

Abstract. The author considers professionally-significant values such as interest, norms and purposes as the basis of the content for teaching foreign language reading. Reading materials should contain objective or emotional values. The reconstruction of real situations for training purposes motivates students to discuss what is read. It is necessary to offer primarily narrative texts to students and teach students to make the map of the story.
