Abstract. The article is devoted to the description of the stages of work with video materials in a foreign language while teaching a foreign language to the students of non-linguistic specialties of Institute of Natural Resources of Tomsk Polytechnic University. Correctly chosen video materials stimulate the many-sided development of future specialists, the realization of the most effective conditions of their training, the intensification of the process of a foreign language teaching and also the increase of the motivation to study a foreign language by the students of non-linguistic specialties.
