Abstract. The article is devoted to playing method as the means of raising motivation of the students of the Institute of Geology, Oil and Gas to study a foreign language. The article comprises the basic notions of playing, definitions, peculiarities, classifications and also the examples of this method usage during lessons. The article contains the materials from Geology course.
