TWO VARIANTS OF "LONELY ONES" (G. GAUPTMAN'S "LONELY ONES" AND A. P. CHEKHOV'S "SEAGULL")

Abstract. In the article the problem of the transformation of the images of "superfluous" and "small" person into the "lonely" hero in the literature of the XIX-XXth centuries is considered on the example of G. Gauptman and A. P. Chekhov's creativity as the representatives of "new drama"; the comparative analysis of two variants of "lonely ones" in Gauptman's drama "Lonely ones" and Chekhov's "Seagull" is carried out.
