Abstract. The article considers the main determination factors of criminal violations of traffic and vehicle operation rules. Special attention is paid to objective and subjective factors that contribute to committing this type of crimes. As the key objective causes of accidents one can note inappropriate condition and maintenance of the road network (unsatisfactory condition of streets and roads caused by improper design, construction or operation of the road, visibility conditions, lack of traffic control means).
