EVALUATING WATER QUALITY OF THE BOLSHOYE MIASSOVO LAKE BY MEANS OF PERIPHYTIC DIATOM COMMUNITIES (SOUTHERN URAL)
Isakova Natal'ya Aleksandrovna
Ilmen State Reserve
Abstract. The article analyzes the use of periphytic diatom communities to evaluate the background saprobiological pollution level and water quality of the Bolshoye Miassovo Lake (Southern Ural) located within the territory of Ilmen State Reserve. Among the periphytic diatoms the author identifies 77 species - indicators of organic water pollution. It is shown that not all saprobity indicators calculated on the basis of trophicity indexes satisfy the hydro-physical and hydro-chemical parameters of aquatic environment. The author proposes to develop the regional saprobity scale with a view to identify evaluation criteria for the limno-systems.
