Abstract. The article discovers the logic of the systemic analysis of childhood’s social potential in the region. The authors identify the concept, structure and substrate of the system. To study the system the researchers use a decomposition technique - differentiating the levels of abstraction. At the first stage of the research an ontological model of the subject area is developed, at the second stage a conceptual model is formed. As the basic information streams of the system the paper identifies the following ones: "Input Influences on the System", "Output Characteristics of the System", "External Influences", "Resources", "Internal Indicators of the System".
