FOREIGN-LANGUAGE EDUCATION CONFORMABLE TO CULTURE

Abstract. This article analyzes culture-oriented approaches to the study of a foreign language and identifies the most promising of them. On the basis of specific examples from the French language and a brief overview of the conformable to culture techniques proposed by native pedagogues the authors substantiate the necessity of forming not only technical-linguistic but also contextual-intercultural competence of people, who study and teach a foreign language. The most optimal approach is a cross-cultural one including both introspective (reflexive) and extroverted (communicative) language teaching methodologies.
