AUTONOMOUS FORMS OF NATIONAL AND TERRITORIAL SELF-IDENTIFICATION IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION IN THE MODERN PERIOD

Abstract. The article examines a special status of the autonomous region and autonomous districts as subjects of the Russian Federation in the modern period. According to the author, specificity of the autonomous district’s legal nature involves protection of the indigenous people of the North, Siberia and the Far East. The paper examines problems of legal regulation in relation to administrative-territorial formations with a special status in the structure of the Russian Federation subjects.
