Abstract. The article analyzes the main features of modern ethnic policy in the Russian Federation. The author identifies the key problems in the sphere of interethnic relations, new challenges and ethno-political risks. The paper also highlights the issues of strengthening the unity of Russian nation, the harmonization of interethnic relations, ethnocultural development and cooperation with public associations. The further ways of the modernization of the state ethnic policy are determined.
