FEATURES OF ILLITERACY LIQUIDATION AMONG ADULT POPULATION IN ORENBURG REGION IN THE 1930S

Abstract. The article is devoted to the liquidation of illiteracy among the adult population of Orenburg region in the 30s of the XX century. The features of this period are considered - differentiated approach to staffing reading and writing schools and centers for illiteracy liquidation, the extreme methods of training, and the involvement of the population of the region in training on voluntary basis. The difficulties of that period are revealed. Basing on the population census of 1939 the author sums up the results of illiteracy liquidation by the end of the 1930s.
