PREREQUISITES AND FORMULAE OF ETHNO-METRICAL ANALYSIS OF CULTURAL DIMENSIONS

Abstract. The article deals with the prerequisites of the fundamental methodology of the quantitative evaluation of mentality developed by the Dutch sociologist G. Hofstede, and also with the formulae for calculating the indexes of cultural dimensions singled out by the scientist and the basic empirically proved problem areas representing these cultural dimensions. The authors argue the advantages of the model of cultural dimensions over typological approach, differentiate between the concepts of the expected and the desired, as well as analyze the meaning of correlations ??within ethno-metrical researches.
