NAMES OF ALIEN RACES IN MODERN ENGLISH SCIENCE FICTION (BY THE MATERIAL OF "STAR WARS" SERIES BOOKS)

Abstract. The article examines the correlations of the word-formation models used for the nomination of alien races in modern English science fiction and the characteristics of these alien races. The author analyzes the ways of the verbal expression of the opposition "friendly - alien" in the nomination of alien races confirming the thesis about the linguo-synergic processes providing the expansion of the cognitive basis of the word-formation models of modern English.
