Abstract. The dependence of light intensity on chosen direction appears a periodic function of two variables. For the approximate determination of the analytical form of this dependence on the basis of experimental data the author proposes to use discrete Fourier transform with two variables. This method doesn’t require large computing costs and is very fast. Its efficiency is tested while calculating the spatial light distribution of a particular light source.
