DYNAMICS OF KHAKASSIA POPULATION SEX AND AGE STRUCTURE (THE LATE 1980S - 2010S)

Abstract. This article analyzes the dynamics of the age and sex structure of Khakassia population in the late 1980s - 2010s taking into account the specificity of urban and rural areas. The characteristic of the population composition enables to identify the peculiarities and prospects of its future reproduction; to reveal the specificity of birth and mortality rates in regional context; to outline a set of measures aimed at improving the demographic potential of the Republic.
