NATIONAL IDEA AS MEANS OF NATIONAL IDENTITY FORMATION IN MODERN RUSSIA

Abstract. This article discusses the problem of the absence of national idea in Russia at the present stage. After the socialist system break-up communist ideology ceased to be the connecting link rallying the Russian society and establishing the necessary communication channels of the ruling regime and the society. The paper shows that for providing the vitality and success of Russia further development it is necessary to generate national idea, which, in its turn, will enable to get back the lost notion of national identity.
