Abstract. In the article the problem of elderly citizens’ and disabled persons’ adaptation to the life conditions of the modern society of informatization epoch is considered. The authors substantiate the necessity of introducing modern information and telecommunication technologies into society life for the individual’s successful socialization, his entering single global information space. Particular attention is paid to the study of Arzamas Social Service Centre experience and the generalization of its work results in the sphere of teaching computer literacy to elderly and disabled people.
