TYPOLOGY OF LAUGHTER IN THE RUSSIAN LITERATURE (TO THE STATEMENT OF PROBLEM)

Abstract. The paper raises questions prior to the creation of the typology of laughter. It is proposed to consider laughter ambivalent not in content, but in quality (the ability to combine tragic and comic in the character of laughter, such as in "The Golovlyov Family" by Saltykov-Shchedrin). The article gives some of the criteria that will determine the type of laughter (the nature of emotions, content, quality, function). The author presents and argues judgments about the functions of laughter, for example, about the relativity of the criteria of these functions (desire for simultaneous exposure and education in works by Nikolai Gogol).
