GENDER DIFFERENCES OF LANGUAGE REPRESENTATION IN HUMOROUS DISCOURSE (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE ENGLISH "EVERYDAY" ANECDOTES)

Abstract. This article explores the gender aspect of emotional linguistic personality in the English "everyday" anecdotes. In accordance with the objective of this study in the English "everyday" anecdotes the author examines lexical and syntactic means in men’s and women’s speech. The study of men’s and women’s emotive behaviour in humorous discourse shows that gender differences exist at the syntactic and lexical levels of speech.
