INTERNET ADDICTION: SPIRITUAL AND VALUE GROUNDS

Abstract. The article proves that the most effective way of struggle with Internet addiction is the development of human personality, especially his/her intelligence, will-power, value and worldview structures. A personality-developed human uses modern information and communication technologies for the further improvement and implementation of his/her freedom. With underdeveloped spiritual world the capabilities of these technologies are used to intensify the negative qualities of personality: in spite of large quantity of assimilated information, a person can become more primitive morally and emotionally, loses his/her freedom, and turns into a means of manipulation. If such a person has a tendency to dependences, then Internet addiction is formed.
