KANIV SPATIOTEMPORAL LOCUS AS ENVIRONMENT FOR FESTIVALS OF ARTS

Abstract. The article reveals the peculiarities of arts festivals arranging in one of the small towns of Ukraine - the regional centre of Cherkassy region, Kaniv. The historical background of contemporary Kaniv socio-cultural space formation is considered. The possibilities of using the specific features of landscape in arranging festival events are characterized. The significance of the figure of T. Shevchenko as one of the symbols of the town is shown. By the example of Kaniv the principles and peculiarities of art festivals arranging in the small towns of modern Ukraine are highlighted.
