Abstract. The aim of this study was the assessment of some blood lipid profile indicators, the parameters of ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) and cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy (CAN) before and after omega-3 long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (omega-3 PUFA) administration. It was established that treatment with omega-3 PUFA contributes to the positive changes of high density lipoprotein cholesterol and triglyceride concentration, is accompanied by the tendency to the normalization of some ABPM parameters. The obtained results argue for the advisability of omega-3 PUFA use in the complex therapy of patients with type 2 DM and CAN.
