Abstract. In the article the language situation dynamics at Martinique and its characteristic at the modern stage are shown. Languages functioning in communication spheres regulated by the state and in interpersonal communication – among family members, in everyday life, etc. – is analyzed. Special attention is paid to the Martinican Creole language functioning and the reasons of its limited use in all communicative spheres.
